What is the best way to quit smoking?

I need some advice on how to quit smoking. I have tried cold turkey and smoking fewer, but I eventually go right back into the nasty habit. Anything will help. Thanks.

i would definitely suggest a nicotine inhaler. a big part of the addiction is your routine. you might smoke after meals, or at certain times every day. your mind gets into the habit of smoking, not just your body. try using the inhaler whenever you would normally have a cigarette. (plus the feel of the inhaler between your fingers helps too)

I would suggest that when you get an urge to smoke, snack on something instead.
Preferably something healthy, like an apple, carrots, orange, banana, etc.
But candy, gum, or mints will do too. Also, always have a bottle of water with you.
I swear, it worked for me.

I’m biting the bullet and taking Chantix. I’ll probably have every bad reaction possible since I don’t take medicine often and tend to not agree with it. I’ve given up on trying to quit myself. Maybe you should try it too? My doctor wrote me a priscription for 2 months supply and said that in 2 months she’ll write two more prescriptions. She encourages smokers to use it for 4 month. My husbands doctor encourages 3 months. I know this is replacing one bad habit with another but I am willing to take the risk at this point. Good luck to you!
